The magic of black and white. They are running and standing still. These people are timeless. They are eternal. I wasn’t going to take a photo story. I have just come to Israel to meet my friend. I liked the ancient city of Acre with thick walls, stunted palm trees and the sea - but it didn’t surprise me. After a few days of exploring the area I decided to move to Jerusalem. And then I saw THEM-always running and concentrated on prayer, black and white, ancient, beyond the age and beyond the time. I was fortunate to witness the arrival of a distinguished guest, so respected that his appearance caused the reverent silence of hundreds of people. And to see the noisy rite of the Bar Mitzvah, when women standing on chairs, over the fence sprinkle their adult sons with sweets, like at a wedding. The festive procession of Shabbat-hugging and dancing men could not be photographed because it is forbidden. The Wailing Wall has become my place of pilgrimage for the duration of my stay in Jerusalem. The works are performed in the technique of oil printing.
